During 2011 there were 43 new investment projects discussed, the effect of which is quite satisfying. 17 investors have already decided to choose Wrocław and neighbouring areas for their plans. Among them: 11 companies will engage into ventures realted to research & development or services, whilst 6 businesses will carry out production projects.

Due to these investments, the employment will increase:

• in research and development – by 750

• in services – by 2100

• in production – 950

Some of the new initiatives (specifically 10 projects) awaits final public announcement. From these already declared it is worth to mention another expansion of:
Credit Suisse (300 employees including 100 lawyers, extension of the activity),
Hamilton Sunstrand (350 engineers, extension of the activity),
3M (opening of a new plant),
LG Electronics (extension of the activity),
Whirlpool (opening of the dishwasher plant)
and new investments of Sumitomo Chemicals and Minetronics.

Additional income for the budget from Company Income Tax / Personal Income Tax will amount to over 12.5 million PLN per year. New occupations created along and subsequently to the investment processes will generate further indirect income ranging from 30 to 50 million PLN annually.

We hope that the new year 2012 will turn out to be as successful for the economy of Wrocław’s urban area.
