Another stage of 3d production facility development completed

27 March 2017

The traditional wiecha decoration of branches and flowers has been placed on the roof of the Belgian Materialise NV's production facility under development in Bielany Wrocławskie, marking the completion of an important stage of the development of Europe's largest facility to produce objects using the technology of selective sintering of polyamide powders. Boasting 10 thousand metres of floor area, the plant is being developed in the area of Tarnobrzeg Special Economic Zone Euro-Park Wisłostan. The technology assembly will begin in May, while June is expected to see the launch of production.

– The development of the Materialise production facility is without doubt one of the most important events in our region, in terms of technology and business. It is Europe's biggest production-oriented development project using new technologies on this scale. The facility is an example of Lower Silesian economy becoming knowledge-driven – says Mariusz Sinior of DAWG, head of Investor Service Centre, who supported Materialise’s investment process.

Materialise NV is today a global leader in the field of increment manufacturing. Two years ago, it merged with the Wrocław based start-up e-Prototypy S.A. Currently, most of the company's products are being manufactured at the Wrocław Technology Park. It is also here that its departments are now located, including sales, IT, R&D and accounts, to be moved next year to the new premises.

Apart from the very 3D printers, the new facility will be also equipped with full post-production infrastructure to deliver all kinds of component finish available for this technology.
