In the first six months of 2017, Lower Silesian Railways has carried a million passengers more than in the corresponding period last year, setting a new record. From January to June this year, Lower Silesian Railways carried 4.5 million people. Compared to 2016, the number rose by almost a million, ensuring the best result in the company’s history and a testimony to the regional railway carrier’s popularity with passengers. Over the past three years, the number of people using the company’s services has gone up by an impressive 162%. Additionally, Lower Silesian Railways has recorded considerable progress in terms of overall distances covered. In the first half of the year, the regional carrier’s trains negotiated 3.5 million km, which is almost twice as many as three years ago. The company has also seen a significant increment in the number of tickets distributed through its own sales channels. 1.7 million tickets, almost 300 thousand more than last year, were sold over the first six months of the year.
