Toyota Motor Industries Poland production facility has extended the range of its engines by adding a 1.5 l petrol unit. Until now, only diesel engines have been manufactured at the facility. The ceremonial opening of the production line was held at the Jelcz-Laskowice facility operating in Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone "INVEST PARK". - The European market is evolving towards an increased share of petrol, electric and hybrid vehicles - alleged Kazunari Masuoka, President of Toyota Motor Industries Poland. – This is why it has been important to us to diversify production and develop the capacity to make petrol engines, which will help us ensure a more stable future for our facility – he stressed. A new 1.5 l petrol engine for Toyota Yaris Toyota is going to equip its Yaris model with a 1.5 l, 111 hp engine, replacing the present 1.33 l unit. The 4-cylinder ESTEC engine uses modern technological solutions ensuring better performance, driver’s experience and fuel consumption decreased by 12 per cent. The new propulsion unit for the Yaris conforms to the Euro 6c standard in compliance with the Real Driving Emission requirements.
  • The new, bigger and more powerful engine in the Yaris range will replace the 1.33 l unit.
  • Power increase from 99 hp to 111 hp while ensuring a 12 per cent drop in fuel consumption;
  • High torque of 118 Nm that can be attained from 2,000 rpm;
  • The 1.5 l unit meets the Euro 6c standard.
