Air link to Iceland

The first flight from Wrocław to Reykjavik took off on Wednesday. The event had a ceremonial character. Flights to Iceland will be served by WizzAir twice a week. Planes will fly from the capital of Lower Silesia to Iceland on every Wednesday and Sunday. Departures from Wrocław were planned for 03:55 pm, while flights will leave Reykjavik at 06:50 pm. Iceland’s places of interest include Dettifoss, which is the biggest waterfall in Europe, lava fields and volcanic areas, or a walk beneath the Langjökull glacier. Also, a bath in the Blue Lagoon is an attraction - the water here has a temperature of about 70 degrees Celsius all year round. As for Reykjavik, it boasts a few hundred pubs and restaurants, where you can have dishes such as fish soup with coconut milk or bread made in a geothermal bakery. Apart from Iceland, Wizz Air serves another nine destinations from Wrocław - the UK, (London Luton, Doncaster Sheffield and Birmingham), Scandinavia (Oslo Torp and Stockholm Skavsta), and Ukraine (Kiev and Lviv). The last two destinations are Dortmund and Eindhoven. Wizz Air has been operating at the Wrocław Airport since 2008. At that time, the airline launched its first link, which was Dortmund. Four years later, it opened its base of operations in Wrocław, home to 35 staff and an Airbus A320 plane.
