Gazelles of Business Awards Ceremony '2016 - Recognition of Small and Middle-Sized Businesses
Over 180 Wrocław based enterprises have become winners of the 17th edition of the Gazelles of Business ranking '2016. Their representatives received the awards at a ceremonial event held on Tuesday, January 31 2017 at Wrocław Stadium's Business Club. The awards were given to a total of 457 Lower Silesian companies.
Gazelles of Business is a ranking of the most rapidly growing enterprises. A Gazelle is a small or medium-sized company which thanks to its exceptionally dynamic development is doing perfectly even among much bigger competitors.
Business entities eligible for the 2016's ranking were companies set up before 2013 and operating on the market incessantly till today. Also important was that in the base year 2013, their sales incomes were between 3 and 200 million PLN and rose in the period 2013-2015 without dropping below the break-event point.
An enterprise's place in the ranking depended on its income increment, expressed in percentage, attained over the three years examined (2013, 2014 and 2015).
Companies offering financial services such as banks and insurance, factoring, leasing, as well as debt collection firms were not eligible for participation. Also capital groups were excluded.
The first edition of the undertaking was held in 2000. The ranking's author is the economy research company Coface Poland, responsible for reviewing financial data of companies entering the ranking.
The Gazelles of Business rankings are developed annually by economy dailies owned by the Sweden based Bonnier Press Group. Apart from "Puls Biznesu" also its sister dailies from Sweden, Denmark, Austria, Latvia, Russia, Estonia, and Slovenia organise the ranking. Selection criteria in each of the countries are adjusted to local economic conditions. However, wherever carried out, the ranking aims to promote small and medium-sized entrepreneurship.
