Wrocław University of Science and Technology Researchers Create Virtual Castle

Researchers from the Department of Computation Intelligence of the Faculty of Computer Science and Management at Wrocław University of Science and Technology participated in the works on an application which makes it possible to see what the castle of Chojnik looked like in the 17th century. "The castle of Chojnik burned down on August 31 1675 and was a ruin for a few centuries. However, the day of August 2016 came – the day of reconstruction. A computer, software and graphics were used instead of bricks, stones and mortar. –it reads on the website of the virtual Chojnik project (http://wirtualnychojnik.kio.pwr.edu.pl/). The initiative was developed by Marcin Meissner as his diploma project, under the scientific guidance of Paweł Myszkowski PhD. Eng. and in cooperation with the Castellan of the Castle of Chojnik, the Jelenia Góra branch of Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society, and AD REM publishing house. The application is free of charge. One can download it with a smartphone or tablet running Android to be able to admire the recreated image of the castle of its glory days on the device's screen.
