Swiss Airlines have announced a launch of flights from Wrocław to Zurich. The first plane is to take off in this direction on October 29. It’s the Swiss airline’s début at the Wrocław airport. Planes from Zurich will arrive in Wrocław on every Monday at 09:05 am, on Wednesdays at 02:20 pm, and on Fridays at 07:05 pm. Passengers will be able to use the service in the opposite direction on Mondays at 09:50 am, Wednesdays at 03:05 pm, and Fridays at 07:50 pm. The flight will take an hour and 40 minutes. - We have been attempting to have the direct link to Zurich brought back for a long time. The potential of this destination was clear as early as at the time when the Russian airline Aeroflot served the Swiss metropolis. Today we’re starting cooperation with an air carrier new to Wrocław – says Dariusz Kuś, president of the Wrocław Airport. Swiss Airlines has a fleet of typically business-oriented, comfortable CS100 planes. Employees of many international companies, including Credit Suisse and UBS, which have their branches in Lower Silesia and neighbouring areas, have been looking forward to using a link with Switzerland. Flights to Zurich will complement the airport’s existing links with the biggest European flight-change hubs. Currently, there are 17 of these a day, including destinations such as Frankfurt, Munich, Dusseldorf, Copenhagen, and Warsaw,  which are also airports frequently used as stops on travellers’ way to America or Asia. Swiss Airlines have been operating on the market since 2002. In 2005, the air carrier was taken over by Lufthansa Group. However, it has retained considerable independence.   Source: tuwroclaw.com
