Participation in Poland’s biggest study of startups may mean business and image-related benefits for companies and the city. The “Polish Startups 2017” report is being developed by experts of the Startup Poland fund. This year’s study is already the third one, developed on the basis of surveys from companies operating in Polish cities. The deadline for survey completion is July 31. When the data has been collected, the authors will create a map of Polish startups and provide an in-depth description of the country’s strongest centres. The whole study will be presented at September’s Economic Forum in Krynica. Let’s count the community members and attract money Tomasz Kudła reminds us that the Economic Forum in Krynica is the biggest international conference held in Central and Eastern Europe, where almost 60 per cent of participants are foreign visitors. Additionally, the data included in the document entitled “Polish Startups 2017” will be also incorporated in the European Startups report, developed by the European Startup Network. – In fact, thanks to the report representatives of big business can form their opinions of Polish regions’ strength and potential in terms of creativity and technology. That’s why I encourage the Wrocław based startup community to count its members and show what we specialise in. Thanks to big numbers of the survey participants we can attract more funds to businesses and the city with a view of supporting development - points out Tomasz Kudła. To be among the leaders In the previous report, surveys from Wrocław accounted for slightly over 7 per cent of all submissions. Cities which did better than ours were Poznań (9 per cent), Tri-City (9 per cent), Cracow (11 per cent), and the winning Warsaw (27 per cent). Wrocław qualified for the second group of startup centres in Poland, alongside Szczecin, Białystok, Łódź, Lublin, and Katowice. – We believe that the technological potential of the city is bigger than what last year's report showed. Moreover, the startup community has grown and become more active here since the report was conducted, so we expect that this time Wrocław will reach the top of the list - says Łukasz Czajkowski, Director of the Business Support Centre of Wrocław Agglomeration Development Agency.
