During the conference “Startup: Wrocław 2016” Wrocław Research Centre EIT+ prepared Start-up Pitch, where 5 start-ups had a possibility to present themselves. Among five teams the biggest number of voices achieved Filip Porzucek’s start-up – TheraPep. On the website wroclaw.pl on the 15 of July 2016 the interview with the pitching winner appeared. As the website announces “ (…) the approach of PhD Czarnecki and Filip Porzucek may be an alternative to the classic interferon therapy eliminating its negative side-effects and high costs of its application”. Interferon therapy is already known quite well. Mainly it possesses antivirus properties and is used mostly during hepatitis type C therapy, but also in cancers therapy and many others. However there are disadvantages, for example the financial ones, because interferon, so protein, is acquired using genetic engineering, which is very expensive. Filip Porzucek from TheraPep says, during the interview with wroclaw.pl, that the method which was proposed by him and PhD Czarnecki is about biopreparation, which is isolation of the stimulation factor from the biological material and simple chemical synthesis. That is why the costs are incomparable lower.
