The collapse of real socialism in the years 1989-1991 signified the twilight of a communist utopia that organised people’s life in several dozen countries. Even China, although officially ruled by theCommunist Party, is implementing a programme of rapid building of capitalism. It might have seemed that future perceived as a challenge ended, as did history. What was supposed to survive was free-market capitalism and liberal democracy as the “normal” forms of managing societies in the 21 st century. However, the 21 st century actually began on 11 September, 2001, when the terrorist attacks on New York and Washington woke history up. The crisis that mired the world in 2008 quickly spread beyond the Western world. An awareness is growing that there is no return to the pre-crisis situation and what lies ahead is a multidimensional turning point. This awareness is coupled with a thirst for utopia.
The conference will be conducted in Polish and English with live streaming on the Internet.
