Almost 5 million passengers. Another record for Wroclaw Airport
4,907,527 – that is how many passengers Wrocław Airport handled in 2025, despite a 40-day break. That is half a million more people than last year.
The highest traffic was generated by flights to and from the United Kingdom. Almost 800,000 passengers used these flights. The second most popular destination was Italy (approx. 600,000 passengers), and the third was Spain (almost 500,000).

Malta, however, won the hearts of tourists. It is the most popular holiday destination. Over 104,000 people took advantage of flights to Malta. Rome turned out to be another tourist destination in 2025.
We have never had to face so many challenges before. This makes us all the more pleased that we coped very well with all of them. In 2025, together with carriers, we offered passengers a record number of connections with several new additions, some of which immediately became bestsellers. In May, we efficiently served fans from Spain and the United Kingdom who flew to Wrocław for the UEFA Conference League final. In the summer, according to ACI EUROPE data, we were among the fastest growing airports, and in September we were the leader in growth in the European Union in our segment.
Karol Przywara, President of the Management Board of Wrocław Airport

Major reconstruction and interruption in airport operations
Let's not forget that the airport has undergone enormous changes, and 2025 was associated with the largest reconstruction in the airport's history.
“If it weren’t for the 40-day break in flight operations, we would certainly have exceeded the 5 million passenger mark, and the annual growth rate would have been around 20%,” assures Karol Przywara, emphasizing the enormous role played by WPL employees.

The following have been commissioned and certified:
- an aircraft de-icing area,
- part of the taxiways.
The following are still to be completed:
- a rapid exit taxiway,
- a parallel taxiway,
- a parking apron.
In addition, the remaining taxiways are still awaiting renovation. This will be completed before the end of this year.

The total cost of the investment is PLN 376,878,387 net (PLN 463,560,416.01 gross), of which PLN 175 million comes from EU funding under the CEF2 instrument for 2021-2027.
“Breaking new records in the number of passengers served is obviously very pleasing, but achieving such results while maintaining the highest safety standards—at a time when one of the largest airport construction sites is operating between the terminal and the runway—is a real source of pride,” says Cezary Pacamaj, Vice President of the Management Board of Wrocław Airport, responsible for investments.

Changes at the airport have improved traffic
The expansion of the central security checkpoint has also contributed to improving passenger comfort. Automatic gates for scanning boarding passes have made traffic at the airport more fluid.

The catering outlets have also been renovated, and Baltona has modernized the duty-free shops in the departure hall. The parking management system has also been replaced, while the exit roads from the long-term car park have been widened. The toilets in the departure hall have also been enlarged.
“An airport without travelers is just a big, empty building. That is why all the activities carried out in 2025 were carried out with our passengers in mind. The enlarged security control area, the new look of the service points, and the completely changed parking system are intended to further increase the comfort of traveling from our airport," summarizes Dariusz Kowalczyk, Vice President of the Management Board of Wrocław Airport, responsible for passenger service.
An important point on the passenger traffic map
Wrocław Airport handles approximately 7.5% of domestic passenger traffic. It is also one of the key factors in the economic growth of Lower Silesia.
According to a report by PPL S.A., the total added value generated by Wrocław Airport for the economy of Wrocław and the region is approximately PLN 4.4 billion per year.
