Siemens sets up its Software Development Center. The company is planning to hire 20 employees. They receive 800 CVs after one week. There is no modern office space in the city so the international giant decides to establish its branch in a part of the former Elwro buildings at Ostrowskiego Street. Siemens is one of few global companies in Wroclaw and the Agglomeration. Because of the fact that Poland is not a member of the European Union, manufactures, IT and modern business services sector don’t invest in Wroclaw.

Wroclaw is called ,,Polish Silicon Valley’’ and the best place to set and grow technological companies. There are +600 IT companies that hire 36,000 employees. 52,500 people work for the manufacturing industry, 60,000 are employed in the modern business services sector. Polish and international companies are continuously growing, opening new plants and extend the scope of their business activity. Wroclaw offers over 1,330,000 m2 of a modern office space. It is estimated that 25% of citizens are foreigners. Thousands of them came to Wroclaw to work in international companies.

Leading research-based German pharmaceutical company, Boehringer Ingelheim, announced that it will create new jobs with the opening of its new Shared Service Centre in Wroclaw. The new centre is now in the ramp-up stage and has already recruited more than 50 employees in the areas of finance, procurement, order management, HR and Legal Services. Recruitment activities will continue during upcoming years and GBS Center Wroclaw will gradually become the GBS European central hub for Boehringer Ingelheim.

Oras Group has leased flexible office space in Spaces Wroclavia since 2020, followed by their move to the final location by taking occupancy of 540 sq m in the Sagittarius Business House since mid of 2021.
