Align Technology is a leading global medical device company, dealing in the design and production of the Invisalign system, the most advanced clear aligner system in the world, iTero intraoral scanners and services, and exocad CAD / CAM software used in digital orthodontics and restorative dentistry. The company announced plans to launch a new manufacturing facility in Wroclaw - the first in Europe and the third in the world. The investment plan provides for the creation of over 2,500 new jobs in the next few years. Production at the new plant is scheduled to start in early 2022.

Leading research-based German pharmaceutical company, Boehringer Ingelheim, announced that it will create new jobs with the opening of its new Shared Service Centre in Wroclaw. The new centre is now in the ramp-up stage and has already recruited more than 50 employees in the areas of finance, procurement, order management, HR and Legal Services. Recruitment activities will continue during upcoming years and GBS Center Wroclaw will gradually become the GBS European central hub for Boehringer Ingelheim.

Oras Group is a European manufacturer of bathroom and kitchen faucets and a specialist provider of modern touchless solutions for a smart home that saves water. The company decided to set up a Shared Service Centre in Wroclaw. Oras Group has leased flexible office space in Spaces Wroclavia since 2020, followed by their move to the final location by taking occupancy of 540 sq m in the Sagittarius Business House since mid of 2021.

In October 2019, a Siemens plant producing high-class control cabinets was established in Mirków. A properly configured wardrobe is the brain of every modern factory, without which automated production cannot take place. In Mirków, over a thousand of them are produced annually, which significantly affects the development of the domestic industry 4.0. The devices are also exported to the European Union. Nearly 150 people will find employment in the plant.

Global automotive and manufacturing elements provider, Schaeffler established a modern business service centre for various departments and functions: finance, purchase, logistics, HR, IT and digitalisation. The enterprise has ambitious plans to create 800 new positions within the next 5 years.

It opened  a new branch in June 2018 for shared services centers for Europe, Middle East and Africa. The company’s residence is located in a modern Retro Office building in the city centre.

This research, development and quality centre is located in Bielany Wroclawskie. Thanks to a 17 million dollar investment, 250 positions were created there. New cookies and chocolates recipes for Alpen Gold, Lubisie, Prince Polo or Oreo brands are among others developed in these modern laboratories.

What’s more, related to this trend is the wider technological change’ arguably the most important revolution in the automotive industry for decades. Thanks to the construction of the car battery factory near Wrocław by LG Chem, our region has become a significant place in the European market.

Ryanair is the largest European air carrier in terms of passenger[1] s, which began the era of low-cost flights, making them available to almost everyone. Ryanair Labs were established in 2015. The company develops the reservation system, mobile application and website in the region. When you buy another vacation ticket or show your boarding pass on your mobile phone, remember that it's all created by IT specialists from Wroclaw.

After over 20 years of restricting  operations, the Wroclaw PZL Hydral plant has enlisted a world-class investor - the American company UTC Aerospace Systems. The factory is constantly growing, investing and increasing employment from the very beginning. The investor has also established a research and development center in Wroclaw and actively cooperates with the Wrocław University of Science and Technology.

There are over 13 million cats and dogs in Poland and Purina is among the most recognised food products for them. It so happens that the Nestlé company, which produces the animal feed, has its own ultramodern plant in the Wroclaw Agglomeration. It was the largest industrial investment in 2012. The plant in Nowa Wieś Wrocławska currently employs nearly 800 people and produces the feed for the majority of Central European countries.

The Dolby software development center deals with research and development in the scope of sound quality and TV/cinema broadcasts. It is one of the most advanced units of its type in Poland, while Dolby one of the most attractive employers. Before making a decision to implement the project in Wroclaw, the investor had been analysing the potential of Wrocław for a long time, particularly in terms of the availability of top computer scientists.

EY is a leading global consulting company that belongs to the elite group of the so-called Big Four. The analysis, conducted by the team responsible for choosing the location for EY’s first global service center, was extremely comprehensive and covered over 25 categories. Wroclaw was recognised by the investor as the best balanced city.

As a result of the global financial crisis, Pittsburgh Glass Works investment was one of the few significant manufacturing projects in Poland. Thanks to the excellent cooperation between ARAW and Legnica Special Economic Zone, the investor considered Sroda Slaska the best place to locate its windows plant for  premium cars.

IBM IT Service Centre was  the biggest investment project of its type in Europe and the Middle East in 2009. Initially, the company didn’t take Wroclaw into consideration. The city was added to the list of potential locations due to ARAW conference call with IBM. The outstanding support of the deputy mayor Rafał Dutkiewicz  and other parties’ involvement  contributed to Wroclaw success.

Initially, the investor planned to create 500 FTE, in the best-case scenario. Today, Credit Suisse employs 4,500 people and is the premier business services sector employer in Wroclaw.

Google’s branch in Wroclaw is responsible for digital marketing and customer service. The investment was the first Google’s operational centres in Central East Europe. According to Polish and Wroclaw students, the company has been one of the best employers for many years.

UPS was the second global company, after HP, that decided to set up its global service center in Wroclaw. This investment has bolstered the city’s position and has attracted rapidly growing SSC/BPO sector.
