About 300 students in the final grades of elementary schools from Wroclaw and the surrounding area, will take on the role of engineers who will face the challenge of protecting the air. It's all part of the BASF ECMS Academy, which kicks off on Friday, October 25.

They will learn how to protect nature in a modern way

According to the venture's organizers, this is an innovative educational project that will combine chemistry, technology and ecology, giving young people the opportunity to learn in a practical way about state-of-the-art environmental protection. Participants will use technology developed by BASF Environmental Catalyst and Metal Solutions experts from the Sroda Slaska plant - one of the most advanced catalyst production facilities in Europe.

During the very first class, Academy participants will have the opportunity to make a car catalytic converter on their own, using BASF's technology. According to the organizers, this will be a unique opportunity to see how innovation helps meet air protection challenges.

Students pay nothing

The workshop will be conducted according to a scenario prepared by educators of the Lukasiewicz Experience Gardens - PORT.

Participation of young scientists in this project is free of charge. The total cost of the classes will be covered by BASF ECMS as part of its commitment to long-term educational projects.
