On Thursday, August 1, 2024, the construction site was officially handed over to the contractor who will prepare the site for Intel's factory in Miękinia, near Wroclaw. This is the largest foreign investment in Poland, worth $4.6 billion PLN. More than 2,000 people will soon be working there.
Intel is one of the world's largest semiconductor manufacturers. It plans to locate its Semiconductor Test Integration Plant in the suburban municipality of Miękinia. It intends to invest 4.6 billion USD in the project.
By the end of the year, the site will be ready for construction
The next stage of the project is just beginning. According to Andrzej Leusz, Director of the Marketing and Communication Department, on August 1, 2024, the construction site will be officially handed over to the contractor who will prepare it for the company's factory. It is Budimex S.A., which has already started moving the necessary equipment to the site.
In the near future, an area of approximately 50 hectares will be leveled and a sealed tank will be built to serve as a rainwater retention basin for the construction facilities to be built on the adjacent land. Grading is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of this year.

According to Andrzej Leusz, the Legnica Special Economic Zone is creating the Miękinia-Środa Śląska Industrial Park on the site where Intel's investment is planned. The area is currently being developed with all the necessary technical infrastructure for the industrial park.
In addition to Intel, other companies cooperating with the group will also operate there.

It will also be a catalyst for additional ecosystem investment and innovation in Poland and across the European Union.
There will be jobs for 2,000 people
At the Semiconductor Testing Integration Facility, at least 2,000 people will find employment. The company will hire, among others:
- experts in facility design and construction
