Over 20 companies have the opportunity to present themselves at the Web Summit in Lisbon. This is a huge opportunity for startup creators who are taking their first steps in the world of big business.

"This fair showcases the latest inventions, ideas, and trends that are shaping and driving the entire global economy. After just the first day of the fair, it is clear that our companies are among the leaders. We have no complexes, no shame. We are on par with others, and in many cases we are leaders of change," emphasized Cezary Przybylski, Vice-President of the Lower Silesian Regional Assembly, during the briefing opening the Polish stand at Web Summit.

The city and province join forces for innovation

Lower Silesian startups are presenting themselves at global trade fairs – Web Summit and similar events – as part of the Going Global (the 2025 edition is also the fourth of the entire project) and Startup Wroclaw projects.

We present a very wide range of industries. We have broadly understood IT, artificial intelligence, gamification, and med-tech. These are also companies at various stages of development - from very mature and recognizable on the market, to those just starting out, to whom we also give a chance here.

Magdalena Okulowska, President of the Management Board of ARAW S.A.

“For three days, Lisbon becomes the true technological center of Europe,” emphasized Magdalena Okulowska. "Over 70,000 people and 3,000 exhibitors attend Web Summit. That's why I'm glad we're here".

The city has joined forces not only with the province, but also with the Startup Founders Association, with which projects are already being co-created.

The development of innovation depends on support for startups

The provincial government and ARAW support startups by financing their participation in Web Summit. At a joint stand, companies present themselves on a rotational basis, which gives everyone a chance to attract potential customers or investors.

“These are young people who have great ideas and concepts. The local government supports them by preparing a stand so that they can make their presence felt, establish contacts, start cooperation, and initiate expansion into other markets,” explains Alina Szełemej, chairwoman of the Foreign Cooperation Committee.

As Lower Silesians, we can be proud that we are one of the most dynamically developing regions. This is also demonstrated by today's delegation of entrepreneurs who have come to the Web Summit in large numbers. We are delighted that as a region, the provincial government, and the city of Wrocław, we can support this development.

Piotr Karwan, provincial councilor

– I hope that the coming years will be even stronger. This is actually the first time that we are working in synergy with Startup Wroclaw and ARAW, for whom this fair is not a first. This shows us that these large conferences make sense, because thanks to them, the region can develop – summed up Bartłomiej Kubicz, director of the Department of Economy and Promotion of the UMWD.
