Guinness World Records: electric car powered by LG Energy Solution Wrocław battery at record height

On May 25th, representatives of LG Energy Solution Wroclaw announced that driver Rainer Zietlow and his Challenge4 team drove an electric car up the dormant Uturuncu volcano in Bolivia, reaching a height of 5816 meters.

The team's feat was entered in the Guinness Book of World Records and confirmed by an official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS certificate.

It is another record of Rainer Zietlow and his team. The year before, they were awarded for the longest uninterrupted journey in an electric vehicle within one country. Challenge4 set the record in the United States with a Volkswagen ID.4 powered by an LG Energy Solution battery.

- Congratulations to Rainer Zietlow and his team for setting a new record with our batteries. This incredible achievement is another milestone added to the previous record for the longest electric vehicle trip achieved last year. Even then, the high endurance level of LG Energy Solution batteries was confirmed. This feat is further proof of the exceptional performance of electric cars powered by our batteries, which perform even in the toughest driving conditions - says a press spokesman for LG Energy Solution.

Electric cars: batteries, range and long-distance driving

Volkswagen ID.4 GTX is powered by LG Energy Solution Wroclaw battery cells and modules. They are characterized by high energy density, which allows driving over long distances and high altitudes, as well as fast charging. The VW ID.4 is based on a modular electric drive matrix (MEB). This is the first modular platform for electric vehicles designed by the German company in collaboration with LG Energy Solution. It is currently used in the ID.3 and ID.4 models.

- Our goal was to demonstrate the potential of electromobility by demonstrating how electric vehicles maintain high performance even at extreme altitudes - says Rainer Zietlow, driver.
