We have just witnessed a historic year for local gastronomy: the first Michelin stars for Wrocław, as many as three Bib Gourmand distinctions, and a record number of restaurants recommended by the world's most famous culinary guide. This confirms that Wrocław's culinary brand, built over the years, is growing in strength and attracting the attention of not only food enthusiasts but also the most prestigious institutions and experts in the gastronomic industry.

Hosting the next edition of The Food Capitals Summit 2027 further solidifies this premier status.

Passing the Torch

The announcement was made during the inauguration of the summit's first edition, which took place in May in Castelldefels near Barcelona, Spain. The symbolic "chef's spoon," marking the passing of the organization for the next edition, was accepted on behalf of Wrocław by the city's First Vice-President, Jakub Mazur.

"For several years, Wrocław has been consistently building its position as one of Central Europe's most exciting culinary destinations. We have outstanding restaurateurs, ambitious chefs, excellent regional producers, and an increasingly strong gastronomic brand. Organizing the Food Capitals Summit will be a fantastic opportunity to showcase this potential to international experts and industry leaders from around the world." Jakub Mazur, First Vice-President of Wrocław

A Global Network

Wrocław has been a member of the international Food Capitals by Délice network since 2022. Last year, it was elected to the group of cities co-managing the organization, which brings together the world's most important culinary destinations. This appointment recognizes the city's active efforts to support gastronomy, local producers, and the development of culinary tourism.

In May 2027, approximately 100 experts, local government officials, chefs, and culinary industry representatives from dozens of cities worldwide will arrive in Wrocław.

The event program will feature:

  • High-level debates and presentations of best practices.

  • In-depth study visits and culinary tours.

  • Specialized meetings focused on the role of gastronomy in urban development, tourism, and the local economy.

Wrocław aims to leverage this event to promote Lower Silesian products, regional restaurants, and the rich culinary heritage of the region. The city plans to showcase not only its exceptional gastronomic offerings to its international guests, but also its openness, multiculturalism, and the unique atmosphere of a place that has been bringing people together around a common table for centuries.
