The focal point of the Invest in Wroclaw business breakfast, which took place on 30 September 2025 at Ace of Space in Renoma, was the presentation of the publication ‘ESG without secrets – how to build a competitive advantage on ESG / A guide for SMEs’, prepared by ARAW in cooperation with the ESG Institute.

We met to talk about ESG. However, we did not discuss its importance, because we all already know that. This time, we addressed the practical aspects of this issue.

Magdalena Okulowska, President of ARAW

ESG is not just for large organisations

Agnieszka Orłowska, President of the ESG Institute, pointed out that the aim of the guide is to familiarise smaller companies with ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance), i.e. the area concerning the environment, society and corporate governance.

It also presents the topic from their point of view. Their representatives often think that ESG only applies to large companies, which is not true. The domino effect means that regulatory requirements will sooner or later also apply to SMEs, especially when they cooperate with large companies.

Megatrend and business opportunity

During the meeting, experts from various industries discussed reporting, risk management and practical examples of ESG application in everyday business.

ESG is a megatrend that, in our opinion, cannot be stopped. Despite various signals from the market, it will soon be part of corporate management strategy. Hence the idea for a guide that also responds to the challenges associated with changes in the economy and law. It shows how a responsible and sustainable approach can not only reduce risk, but above all open the door to new business opportunities.

Aneta Herbuś, Head of Investor Relations at ARAW

The participants discussed, among other things, ESG from the perspective of the company's management board, the benefits of ESG Due Diligence analysis and climate risks in commercial property lease and sale transactions, ESG reporting after the changes, and how to build a competitive advantage through sustainable activities.

A space for discussion and exchange of experiences

As always during Invest in Wroclaw business breakfasts, networking was also an important element of the event, providing an opportunity to establish new contacts and have inspiring conversations among Wrocław entrepreneurs.

ESG is a very interesting topic, currently at the top of the agenda. Almost all companies are leaning towards it at the moment. I want to meet experts who specialise in this topic to find out which direction to go in and whether it really makes sense. This is particularly interesting to me because I work in the commercial real estate industry.
