Japan giant Hitachi acquires GlobalLogic. GL Poland is based in Wroclaw

Hitachi Ltd. buys the American company GlobalLogic – a global leader in the IT sector. GlobalLogic Poland has its head office in Wroclaw. It is where the company creates modern automotive and other solutions.

Hitachi buys GlobalLogic

World agencies report that the Japanese corporation Hitachi announced the acquisition of GlobalLogic – a company from the Silicon Valley whose company GlobalLogic Poland is based in Wroclaw – on Wednesday 31st March 2021. The Japanese will pay USD 9.6 billion for GlobalLogic.

Hitachi stresses that this will strengthen their digital operations in many sectors, including IT and industry. In this way, the Japanese industrial corporation wants to expand its operations from electronic equipment to digital services. Hitachi intends to conclude the transaction with GlobalLogic until the end of July.

The acquisition of GlobalLogic is a part of Hitachi's medium-term plan for the year 2021, which includes the commitment to invest 1 billion yen (USD 9 billion) for the purpose of reinforcing the company’s digital potential.
