The 2nd Local Government Internet and Social Media Congress Local SoMe'23, which kicks off already on Tuesday (28.11.) at Tarczynski Arena stadium. This is two days of meetings and exchanges of views of specialists dealing with marketing, communications, local government policy and the broader Internet presence at the local government level.

There will be a lot of practical information for press officers, social media specialists, representatives of promotion departments in cities, people responsible for implementing CSR activities in municipal units, as well as councilors and local government decision-makers. This will be an opportunity to gain knowledge, make valuable business contacts and co-create the future of local government communications.

Artificial intelligence in local government

On the first day of the congress, speakers will face the answer to the question "Will artificial intelligence technology become the main tool in local government communications, replacing traditional methods?".

They will also talk about how to use web analytics for microtargeting and effective voter acquisition. New opportunities, ways and inspirations in communicating with residents will also be presented. On the other hand, the second day of the congress will feature workshops and training sessions that will provide practical knowledge, instruments and tools for effective communication.

Five thematic tracks

The Local SoMe'23 Congress will include five thematic tracks:

  • Content, Municipality, City, Region
  • Voters, Residents, Users
  • Private Profile
  • Information, Dialogue, Investment
  • Law, Technology, Security

Participants at the event will discuss, among other things, whether AI will take over local government communications, replacing traditional methods, and how local government officials should work in the era of social media.

They will also talk about the art of local government storytelling and whether popularity on social media really translates into support in elections. Best practices in creating and managing social media campaigns for politicians at the local level will also be presented.

They will award the most engaging local government communications

During the congress, cities and profiles with the most engaging online and social media communications will be awarded. The jury will award them with Local SoMe'23's Golden Likes, honoring the most engaging video productions, photos and innovative local government campaigns. The Golden Local Government Likes will also be awarded.

The congress is co-organized by the Association of Polish Cities and the Local Government Internets agency. Partners of the event are the Institute for Internet and Social Media Studies (IBIMS), the Institute for Market and Social Research (IBRiS), the City of Wroclaw, Open Eyes Economy and the City Foundation.
