Lower Silesia and Wroclaw at Expo 2025 in Osaka. What will we show in Japan?

Exchange of ideas, new contacts, promotion of tourism and business. These are the goals of the Lower Silesian delegation, which will soon present our region and its capital at Expo 2025 in Osaka, in the Polish pavilion. “We will show our city as green and innovative, focused on economic development,” announced Renata Granowska, Deputy Mayor of Wroclaw, during a press conference.
Between June 24 and 30, Lower Silesia and Wroclaw will present themselves in the Polish pavilion at one of the largest trade fair events in the world - Expo, which in 2025 will take place in Osaka, Japan.
On June 17, representatives of the Lower Silesian delegation presented the main objectives of the presentation of our region, with its capital at the forefront. “Expo is an opportunity to present and promote our region in terms of tourism, technology, and investment,” explains Deputy Marshal of Lower Silesia, Michał Rado.
Wroclaw - the heart and gateway to the region
“We always say that Wroclaw and Lower Silesia are a coherent whole that works closely together. Wroclaw is not only the capital, but also the gateway to Lower Silesia. So we will be presenting our city in the Polish pavilion,” announces Renata Granowska, Deputy Mayor of Wroclaw.
Our region will also bring an element of its oldest tradition to Osaka. "At Expo, we will present the historical art of paper making, which is very characteristic of Duszniki-Zdrój, but also of the entire Lower Silesia region. After all, it was in Wroclaw that the first paper mill on present-day Polish soil was established,“ says Dr. Maciej Szymczyk, Director of the Paper Museum in Duszniki-Zdrój. ”The paper-making traditions are a strong bond between Poles and Japanese.
On the international business arena
“As you can see, Wroclaw and Lower Silesia form a region of great energy. There will be culture, art, science, but also an economic and business component, for which we are also well prepared for Lower Silesia Week,” emphasizes Magdalena Okulowska, president of the Wroclaw Agglomeration Development Agency.
The president of ARAW emphasizes that Lower Silesia is an ambitious, dynamically developing region that is open to technology. It is also a region where these technologies are created, and representatives of the Lower Silesian delegation will present them at the Expo.
We will be joined by representatives of various future-oriented industries. We will present green technologies that support the agri-food industry in achieving zero emissions. In addition, we will showcase what we are famous for, namely advanced IT solutions for the energy, finance, logistics, and healthcare industries. We will present AI-based medical equipment manufacturing, as well as solutions for our startups.

Sixty Japanese companies have already confirmed their attendance and readiness to discuss business. “We not only want to familiarize ourselves with their offerings, but above all to learn about the Japanese approach to creating and supporting innovation,” adds President Okulowska.
"Expo is a global event, but as we know, when it takes place in a specific country, it is also immersed in its traditions. It provides an opportunity to discover the market. The Japanese market is considered very difficult and conservative, although the Japanese are open to new ideas and like technology and innovation. And this coincides with what we have to offer," says the president of ARAW.
