On Thursday, January 21, this year's first meeting of the Lower Silesian Aviation Cluster's members was held. The Cluster's partners visited the premises of UTC Aerospace Systems, one of the Association's founding members. The meeting was dedicated to plans for the coming months, including the calendar of trade events which the cluster intends to attend.

The Lower Silesian Aviation Cluster is an association whose members are companies representing the aviation industry, business environment institutions and scientific units. The cluster members are open to inclusion of not only big enterprises operating in the aviation sector, but also all entities interested in developing this area of the economy in Lower Silesia and the whole Western Poland strip. Currently, talks are underway with eleven more companies, institutions and schools considering inclusion in the cluster.

During the Thursday meeting, the members agreed on issues including methods of membership fee payment and discussed organisation related matters such as accountancy services, attracting new members, growth, promotion and exchange of experiences with other organisations operating in the line of business. The cluster members are also working on current investment proposals for companies hailing from the aviation sector which are considering development and seek locations for new investments.

The Lower Silesian Aviation Cluster's operation started in May 2015 within the Legnica Special Economic Zone. The cluster's partners work on development of favourable conditions of development and location of new aviation companies in this area, promotion of the Polish aviation industry abroad and growth of the research sector. The potential of the industry in Lower Silesia is very big, with international concerns such as Becker Avionics or UTC Aerospace Systems having made investments in the region. It is here that Metal Master's construction team developed their innovative design of a lightweight jet, ideal for quick movement for any purpose. In October 2015, an investment of the company Paradigm Precision began near Wrocław. The manufacturer of parts of turbine engines for the aviation industry plans to employ as many as 250.
