Lower Silesian Griffin 2023 - This year's nominees for the Lower Silesian Griffin have been revealed

Wroclaw companies, products and leaders have been nominated for this year's Lower Silesian Griffin economic award. Among them is Wroclaw Racecourse - Partynice, which has a chance for a statuette in the Lower Silesian Product of the Year category. This is the twentieth-anniversary edition of this plebiscite.

"The Lower Silesian Griffin - Economic Award" is one of the most prestigious awards in the field of economy and business in the region. It honors outstanding achievements of companies and local government units from the Lower Silesia region.

Recognized is not only cooperation and sustainable development, but also exceptional individuals who direct activities and develop businesses according to innovative concepts. This year is the 20th anniversary edition of this competition.

The Lower Silesian Griffin invariably brings together business, science and local government, the so-called golden triangle. Its main tasks are the production and transfer of technology and human resources. We perform these tasks very well. Thanks to this, people from other regions of the country come to Lower Silesia and settle here, work and pay taxes.

Grzegorz Dzik adds that in the beginning the Lower Silesian Griffin honored rather obvious winners, generally large and well-known companies. Now things are different. - The winners are often small and often not very recognizable companies, but with an international reach. So the Griffin is also changing all the time," he points out.

Seven competition categories

This year, the statuettes of the Lower Silesian Gryfs will be presented in seven categories: Company supporting the development of employees, Lower Silesian Product of the Year, Leader / leader of bizneu, Business-friendly local government, Rising star of business, Cooperation of science and business, and Green transformation.

The winners are selected by the Competition Chapter, whose members are prominent representatives of business, local government and science, including the rectors of the largest universities in Wroclaw, representatives of Lower Silesian municipalities and directors, presidents and owners of thriving businesses and institutions in Lower Silesia, who are successful not only in the domestic market, but also abroad. The companies, local governments and individuals nominated for this award have just been announced.

Winners will be announced at the Great Business Gala

The culmination of the competition is the annual Great Business Gala, which attracts the most important personalities of Lower Silesia from the world of business, science, politics and culture.

This year it will be held on October 23, 2023 at the National Forum of Music. It is then that the winners of the "Lower Silesian Griffin - Economic Award" competition will be announced. On the occasion of its anniversary, three special statuettes will also be awarded - the Lower Silesian Twentieth Anniversary Griffins.

20 years of Lower Silesian Griffins

The first edition of the competition was held in 2004. Since then, more than 1,740 Lower Silesian companies and local governments have taken part in the competition, which have undergone a thorough evaluation by the competition's chapter.

In the 19 editions of the competition to date, more than 140 winners of the "Lower Silesian Griffin" have been selected. The organizers of the competition are: Western Chamber of Commerce - Employers and Entrepreneurs, the city of Wroclaw, the Marshal's Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship and the Substantive Partner - PwC.
