3rd Conference “Medical University of Wroclaw – Green Academy in a Green City”. Free admission

This is a meeting of people of science, residents of Wroclaw and the region, students, local authorities and pro-ecological organizations who share a common concern for the natural environment and its impact on human health. The aim of the event is not only to promote pro-ecological attitudes, but also to provide reliable, scientific knowledge - so necessary in an age of misinformation and growing climate challenges.
For the third time, the Medical University of Wroclaw invites you to a unique event dedicated to ecology, health, and the future of our planet. The conference “UMW Green University in a Green City” will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Medical University of Wroclaw.
We are meeting for the third time because our environment, the fate of our planet, but also what is happening in our surroundings, region, and city, are very close to our hearts. As medical professionals and university employees, we are particularly sensitive to human health and the factors that affect it. We want to share knowledge that will help shape environmentally friendly attitudes and decisions that affect our lives.
Prof. Tomasz Zatoński, Vice-Rector for Social Responsibility at UMW
The conference program includes
Three thematic sessions that will address the issues of human coexistence with nature, the impact of the urban environment on health, as well as sustainable development and innovative ecological solutions:
- Integral ecology: including the planetary diet, the gut microbiome, zero waste, and the role of plants and animals in mental and physical health.
- Natural universe: issues related to space, AI in an ecological context, and green innovations at universities.
- Urban elements: water, air, fire, and earth—everything about urban rivers, smog, greenery, noise, and their impact on quality of life.
New! Space and ecology—a new dimension of awareness
This year's edition of the Conference will feature space-related topics for the first time, highlighting the fascinating connections between space and our environment. The “Natural Universe” session will include a lecture entitled “What's happening in space?” – an extraordinary journey through the sounds of outer space and a reflection on how technology and knowledge about the universe can support pro-ecological activities on Earth.
Who is the event aimed at?
For anyone interested – residents of Wroclaw and the Lower Silesia Province, scientists, students, teachers, representatives of local authorities and non-governmental organizations.
