Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Poland in Jawor has been producing engines, engine components and batteries for hybrid cars since 2019 (it is the first Mercedes engine production plant outside Germany).

  • The value of Mercedes-Benz AG's investment in the construction of an engine and battery factory for cars in Jawor is approximately €600 million, or over PLN 2.5 billion.
  • However, the launch of such a modern plant is not only an investment in its construction. The factory in Jawor also means the creation of over 1,000 new, highly skilled jobs, each of which generates additional jobs with partners, subcontractors and service providers in the region.

The company is transforming and further expanding its existing engine and battery factory.

The latest investment by the German concern in Jawor is Mercedes-Benz Vans – a new factory for light commercial vehicles. The plant is located in the Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone ‘Invest Park’.

Mercedes-Benz Vans is building a light commercial vehicle factory in Jawor

In December 2024, a ground-breaking ceremony was held, and in mid-2025, the earthworks stage was completed. Currently, the structural elements of the new factory are being assembled.

‘The expansion of the existing plant is proceeding according to schedule,’ reports the German company, adding that Mercedes-Benz Vans is thus implementing its strategy of increasing industrial competitiveness by expanding its production activities in Europe.

  • In mid-2025, the first support was erected – a structural element of the future paint shop.
  • This is another important step towards the rapid launch of production of a new generation of light commercial vehicles based on the Van Electric Architecture (VAN.EA).
  • This technology is fully modular and scalable, meaning it can handle rapid changes and user requirements.

The Mercedes-Benz Vans factory in Poland is an important part of the global industrialisation strategy for our VAN.EA production. We are talking about a huge step forward in terms of sustainable, modern and flexible production.

Sebastian Streuff, Mercedes-Benz Vans project manager in Jawor

Sebastian Streuff adds: "The expansion and transformation of the factory in Jawor and its integration into the van production network is an important part of Mercedes-Benz Vans' global strategy. It aims to increase the company's industrial competitiveness.
