Olga Malinkiewicz: Printing Technology for Thin and Flexible Solar Cells Perovskites, what are they?
Olga Malinkiewicz was awarded the prize for developing technology to print perovskite solar cells. These are thin and flexible solar cells - so light that a square meter can be held between two fingers.
What's more, perovskites make it possible to generate energy from both sunlight and artificial light, opening up a wide range of applications, including placing the cells on windows, building walls and tents. But not only that - Wroclaw perovskites are already on Orlen and Google.
Perovskites made in Wroclaw. Why did Olga Malinkiewicz choose Wroclaw?
Saule Technologies is a company founded in 2014 by physicist Olga Malinkievich and businessmen Piotr Krych and Artur Kupczunas. And in 2021 they opened the world's first perovskite factory in Wroclaw (in the Wroclaw Technology Park).
When asked why Wroclaw, Olga Malinkiewicz emphasizes that when she came here from Valencia, Spain, she established cooperation with the then Wroclaw Research Center EIT+. In 2015. Olga Malinkiewicz was the winner of the competition "30 Creatives of Wroclaw".
