PepsiCo is launching a giant solar power plant near Wroclaw
In Swiete near Wroclaw, the American company PepsiCo is launching its largest solar farm in Poland.
PepsiCo has launched its largest solar farm in Poland to date, with a capacity of 3.5 MWp in Swiete near Wroclaw. This is part of this year's PLN 22 million investment in developing its own renewable energy sources.
In the first phase of the investment, which has just been completed, more than 6,000 photovoltaic modules (with more efficient cells on both sides of the panels) were installed on an area of about 2 hectares, reaching a power of 3.5 MWp (megawatts)

- The scale of this investment is reflected in the installation of 2 km of medium-voltage power lines, adds Tomasz Bronny, director of the PepsiCo plant in Swiete.

Recall, PepsiCo - is an American company, one of the world's largest producers and marketers of beverages and food products.
It is an investment in the Wroclaw Agglomeration for more than a billion PLN and several hundred new jobs. The plant was built in the village of Swiete in the Sroda Slaska municipality, next to road 94 Wroclaw-Sroda Slaska.
- Now this plant consumes 11.7 GWh of electricity per year. Thanks to the solar farm, 24% of the total energy demand, will come from solar energy. All of the energy generated by the photovoltaic farm will be diverted to the plant's needs, PepsiCo reports.
What does PepsiCo produce near Wroclaw?
PepsiCo's largest solar farm in Poland will power the production of well-known brands of chips and snacks.
PepsiCo plans for the new photovoltaic installation to provide 100% of the energy needed to power the eRBS electric oven used to bake the chips on sunny days. What's more, the company assumes that the installation will fully cover the energy needs of the new production line, which is expected to come online in the middle of next year.
