This marks the next stage in the development of the company, today, the project is evolving into a comprehensive language-learning platform.

Behind the startup are Wrocław residents Aleksandra Pomianowska, Michał Jaworski, Adam Bicz, and Bartłomiej Postek. For over a year, they have been developing a solution that uses AI to create personalized language courses.

  • Unlike many popular language-learning apps, Polimio isn’t limited to the most commonly chosen languages, such as English, German, or Spanish.
  • The platform also allows for the creation of courses for speakers of less common languages, including Nepali and Vietnamese.
  • It is precisely in this area that the startup team sees one of the greatest opportunities for growth.

Polimio: An AI-powered language-learning platform that tailors courses to users

The platform uses artificial intelligence to create materials tailored not only to the user’s language proficiency level but also to their profession, industry, and daily responsibilities.

For example, a person employed at a manufacturing plant can learn Polish using materials covering health and safety rules, machine operation, or communication on the production floor, rather than relying on generic dialogues.

Just a few years ago, developing such courses required the involvement of translators, instructional designers, and subject matter experts, as well as many months of work. Thanks to the use of artificial intelligence, this process can now be significantly shortened, allowing for the creation of materials tailored to users’ specific needs

How does a Wrocław-based startup support companies that hire foreign employees?

Polimio also develops solutions for companies with international teams. The platform allows for the creation of learning paths that take into account the specifics of a given industry and the vocabulary used in everyday work. The materials can be tailored to the manufacturing, logistics, construction, healthcare, or IT sectors.

Companies don’t receive just another generic language course, but a tool that supports the onboarding of new employees, facilitates communication within teams, and helps them adapt more quickly to their new work environment

The solution can support entrepreneurs who hire people from different countries, for whom language proficiency is one of the key elements for a smooth start to work and integration into the team.

New AI Features and Language Learning Platform Development

One of the key milestones in the startup’s development was its participation in the SWPS Startup Booster program. Since then, the company has acquired several thousand new users, expanded the platform with additional features, and begun to grow its business more intensively.

One of the new features is AI Tutor, which allows users to have conversations in a foreign language from the very first days of learning. The solution helps users overcome the fear of speaking and develop practical communication skills used both at work and in everyday life

At the same time, the company is expanding sales to both individual customers and businesses interested in using the platform for recruitment, onboarding, and the development of employees’ language skills.

International Expansion: Wrocław-Based Startup Polimio Expands Its Operations

This year, Polimio took second place in the WallStreet StarsUp competition during the WallStreet conference in Karpacz. The startup also presented at one of Europe’s largest technology conferences in Paris, where representatives of startups, investors, and the world’s largest tech companies gather.

We’re developing our product based on the needs of our users and the companies that use it. We’re seeing that more and more companies are looking for tools to facilitate language learning and the onboarding of employees from different countries. This reinforces our belief that it’s worth developing the platform and preparing to enter new markets

Bartłomiej Postek, Polimio.

As the company’s founders argue, artificial intelligence not only speeds up the creation of educational materials but also makes it possible to develop courses that would have been economically unfeasible just a few years ago. This makes it possible to develop solutions for users and companies that previously could not count on such a high level of personalization.

Who are the creators of Polimio?

The platform was created by four university graduates from Wrocław. Their diverse experiences in technology, business, and education have come together in a project that aims to become a global leader.
