The Power of Poland’s Economy – Karpacz Economic Forum 2025

One of the most important economic and political events in Central and Eastern Europe has begun. The 34th Economic Forum in Karpacz features 500 debates and over 6,000 participants, who over three days will share innovations, exchange insights, and have a real impact on Poland's economic development.
On Tuesday, September 2, at 11:00 a.m., the 34th edition of the Economic Forum in Karpacz was officially opened in Lower Silesia. Every year, the event brings together representatives of the world of politics, business, and the economy, who are guided by one goal: a common pursuit to improve the quality of politics and the development of the economy of Central and Eastern Europe. This year's FE is held under the slogan: “Time of transformation - what will the Europe of the future look like?”
The forum has been opened - what's on the agenda?
The local opening of the conference in the Lower Silesia Zone was initiated by Paweł Gancarz, Marshal of the Lower Silesia Province. “Lower Silesia is the economic heart of Poland, especially in the first days of September,” said the marshal. “This year, it is possible to travel to Karpacz by train. After 25 years, we, as the provincial government, have rebuilt the rail connection with this city. From June this year to today, almost 100,000 participants have already used it.”
The marshal emphasized that the Economic Forum is an event that brings together the world of small, medium, and large business, as well as the world of science. More than 300 scientists and panel participants are taking part in the forum.
Next, Vice President Renata Granowska introduced the forum participants to the characteristics of the innovative “Safe Wroclaw” program, which prepares the city's residents for crisis situations. Wroclaw was the first city in Poland to decide to introduce a widely available and comprehensive range of anti-crisis training courses. The program is presented for several hours a day at the city's stand.
Security is not only a personal, civil, and military issue, but also an economic one, emphasizes Vice President Granowska. The program places a strong emphasis on public safety. We will present our ideas for improving public safety—the concept of the Wrocław Drone Valley and modern defibrillators. We also invite you to demonstrations and workshops, thanks to which everyone will understand what this program is about—we want to show it from a practical perspective.

Magdalena Okulowska, President of the Wroclaw Agglomeration Development Agency, pointed out that Wroclaw is one of the most dynamically developing investment centers in Poland, with a friendly and open environment for start-ups.
The Economic Forum mainly brings to mind business and the economy, but many factors influence it. These include social and geopolitical changes, geopolitics, and a number of cultural phenomena. The forum is a form of multidimensional exchange of ideas at every stage and in every field. It is valuable because it combines many perspectives on the same issues. As ARAW, we showcase innovation in the changing world of business and a period of redefining our own value, complementing the offer of Wroclaw and Lower Silesia.

President Okulowska emphasizes that representatives of start-ups have come to the forum with ARAW, who will meet with big business at one table during the 360 networking panel.
– The Economic Forum in Karpacz is a perfect place to deepen relations between local government, business, and science. We hope that the meeting of representatives from various spheres—entrepreneurs, scientists, and non-governmental organizations—in such a large group will result in closer cooperation, the exchange of experiences, and the development of the best solutions for a modern city," adds Michał Młyńczak, Vice President of Wroclaw, who is actively participating in the FE.
During the conference, guests were also welcomed by Zygmunt Berdychowski, Chairman of the FE Program Council, and Radosław Jęcek, Mayor of Karpacz.
Economic Forum – now in its 34th year since 1992, when only 100 people took part in the first edition, to today, when 6,000 participants join the forum, the event has been held 34 times. Until 2019, it was held in Krynica-Zdrój, but due to the outbreak of the pandemic, a year later it was moved to Karpacz, where it has been held ever since.
The Economic Forum brings together experts in the fields of economics, business, economic development, and digitization, among others, who share their knowledge, research, and experiences. They are joined by representatives of governments, local authorities, the European Union, the media, and the CEOs of the most dynamic companies in Europe.
The Forum is also an opportunity to exchange ideas and contacts, which lead to innovative solutions that facilitate the functioning of the state.
The 34th edition will take place from Tuesday, September 2, to Thursday, September 4, at the Gołębiewski Hotel in Karpacz. We can expect discussion panels, workshops, training sessions, lectures, and a gala during which awards will be presented, including the Wroclaw Mayor's Award in the Socially Responsible Business category.
