The prestigious logo HR Excellence in Research has been granted to Wrocław's EIT+ Research Centre, the city's first institution to receive the distinction.

Wrocław's EIT+ Research Centre has received the right to use the HR Excellence in Research logo granted by the European Commission to institutions applying the principles of the "European Charter for Researchers" and the "Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers".

To date, apart from EIT+, only eight institutions in Poland have been awarded the HR Excellence in Research logo: units of the Polish Academy of Sciences, namely the Institute of Physical Chemistry, the Institute of Physics, the Institute of Plants Genetics, the International Institute of Molecular and Cellular Biology, M. Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology, and the Lublin based Institute of Agrophysics, as well as Nicolaus Copernicus University and the Foundation for Polish Science. Wrocław's EIT+ Research Centre is also the city's first academic institution to enjoy such a distinction. Importantly enough, it is Europe's youngest research institute to be granted the right to use this exceptional title.

Granting the logo is one of actions undertaken by the European Commission as part of the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers aiming to increase the attractiveness of EU scientists' work conditions. The HR Excellence in Research mark is not granted for an indefinite period of time, as institutions using it conduct self-assessment every two years, while being audited by the European Commission in four-year cycles.

Details on the strategy of HR Excellence in Research are available on EURAXESS.
