The Swedish company Stena AB operates in the shipping, ferry, real estate and finance sectors. The international corporation invests in Wroclaw. In March, the Swedes opened an IT center and want to hire 70 people in the first year of operation. They have strategic plans to transfer some services from Sweden to Poland. See details.
Stena AB, founded in 1939 by Stena Allan Olsson, is one of the largest private companies in Sweden. It currently operates globally in sectors such as shipping, ferry lines, real estate and finance.
The newly established branch in Poland will operate under the name Stena Rederi and will focus on providing advanced IT solutions to support the operations of the global Stena Group.
The choice of Wroclaw as a location is not accidental. For years, the city has been attracting innovative companies thanks to access to highly qualified staff, developed technological infrastructure and a unique atmosphere supporting the development of the IT sector.

Stena Rederi plans to engage in the life of the local community by supporting initiatives that promote the development of technology and education. His visit confirmed the strategic plans to move some IT services from Sweden to Poland.

Sławomir Bogusz emphasizes that the opening of a branch in Wroclaw is not only a milestone in the development of the Stena Group, but also an expression of recognition of Polish potential. “We believe that our presence here will contribute to the further development of technology and international integration. The dynamic development of the IT sector in Wroclaw confirms that the city is an ideal place for global investments,” he concludes.

The headquarters of Stena Group IT will be located in the Centrum Południe office complex in Wroclaw. It is worth mentioning that Stena Real Estate BV, part of the Stena Group, bought the buildings constructed in the first stage of the Centrum Południe complex on Powstańców Śląskich Street, between Sky Tower and the Novotel and Ibis hotels. The transaction included two connected office buildings with a total area of over 28,000 sqm.

In its first year of operation, the Stena Rederi branch in Wroclaw plans to create around 70 jobs, offering positions related to IT infrastructure management, data security and software development. Ultimately, the company intends to increase employment, continuing its dynamic development, expanding its team and broadening the scope of its activities.

Our goal is to create a team that will not only respond to the current technological needs of the Stena Group, but also contribute to its strategic development on a global scale,” emphasizes Sławomir Bogusz.

Stena Rederi in Wroclaw will be responsible for managing key IT processes and supporting the global operations of the Swedish group.

In addition, the company places great emphasis on safety on ships and ferries, which is crucial for the Stena Group's maritime operations,” explains Sławomir Bogusz, who has experience in this area, having spent many years on NATO command ships, including the USS Mount Whitney, where he participated in maritime exercises, among other things. His knowledge of maritime operations and security is a valuable asset to Stena Group IT.
