Stena opens an office on Powstańców Śląskich Street. New IT Hub in Wroclaw
Shipping, ferry lines, real estate, and finance are the industries in which the Swedish company Stena operates. The international corporation is investing in Wrocław. The Swedes have just officially opened a new IT Hub.
October 1 this year was a small celebration for Stena employees. On this day, the new office in Wroclaw at 15 Powstańców Śląskich Street was officially inaugurated.
Nearly thirty guests took part in the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Among them were people involved in the creation of the new branch in Poland, including:
- Annika Hult (Deputy CEO of Stena AB) and Patrik Andersson (CIO of Stena AB).
- The ceremony was attended by 40 employees of the new branch, together with their colleagues connected via video link to the company's headquarters in Gothenburg.
What makes Stena, which originates from Sweden, unique is that it is a family business known for its strong commitment to its employees and its cultivation of universal values such as care, innovation, and efficiency, say representatives of the Stena Group.
What does the Stena Group do?
The company is actually a series of equal companies that make up a single entity called the Stena Sphere, which employs several thousand people worldwide in industries such as passenger transport by sea, maritime transport, drilling, recycling of secondary raw materials, and property management.

The new IT hub began operating in an office building owned by a Stena Group company (Stena Real Estate). It was created in response to the growing challenge of attracting new talent in Sweden.
Stena is based in Gothenburg, Sweden's second largest city, where it is one of the most recognized and respected employers alongside companies such as Volvo and Ericsson. Why did the company choose Wroclaw?
The prospect of cost efficiency was also important (other countries were also considered), but ultimately it was the excellent reputation of Polish IT staff, a very similar cultural circle (similar work ethic), the same time zone, and plans to expand the Stena Group's presence on the Polish market resulted in the decision to geographically expand the IT department with a hub in Poland. Together with its new colleagues from Poland, the company has the ambition to set a new tone for the digital transformation of the entire Stena Group, according to the company.
