The Baltic Express will connect Prague with Wroclaw. It will also travel to the Polish coast
The Baltic Express will be launched on 15 December 2024 and will run 4 times a day between Prague and Gdynia, making a total of 25 stops (including Wroclaw, Poznań, Bydgoszcz and Gdańsk). On Thursday 14 November 2024, a conference entitled Polish Logistics Day 2024 was held at the Polish Embassy in Prague, where the new rail link was presented.
- This is a completely revolutionary connection between Prague, Eastern Bohemia and the four Polish provinces, as until now a direct train from Prague to Poland could only be reached via Northern Moravia. Now the route will be shortened several times through eastern Bohemia and then through the western part of Poland all the way to the Baltic Sea," said Pavel Trojan, director of the Prague branch of the Polish Tourist Organisation.
The moderated panel included guests from Poland - Adam Mateuszuk, Director of the Intermodal Transport and Logistics Department at the Ministry of Infrastructure, and representatives of the Polish regions and cities that the Baltic Express will connect from December.
Marek Ciechanowski, Vice President of the Lower Silesian Tourist Organisation, invited the conference participants to Lower Silesia and presented the first five stops of the train on the Polish side.
Alfred Wagner, Deputy Director of the City Promotion and Tourism Department of Wroclaw City Council, invited participants to Wroclaw, a popular city in the Czech Republic, which can be reached from Prague in less than four hours.
Since 2022, Wroclaw has seen an increase in interest from Czech tourists. Today, they are the second largest group of foreign tourists in Wroclaw (after Germans). Thanks to the new connection, we will be able to welcome even more of our neighbours to Wroclaw - the city of a hundred bridges, the capital of culture, dwarves and, of course, Kraft beer.
