The "Lower Silesian Griffins" have been launched. This is the 20th edition of this economic competition
Acceptance of applications from companies, institutions and local governments for this year's 20th edition of the "Lower Silesian Griffin - Economic Award" competition has begun. This is one of the most prestigious economic and business awards in the region. This year, statuettes will be awarded in seven categories.
"The Lower Silesian Griffin - Economic Award" is a competition designed for companies, organizations and local government units from Lower Silesia. The most important economic achievements of the region are promoted and awarded.
What is appreciated here is not only cooperation, sustainable development, investment commitment and activities for the benefit of the local community, but also exceptional personalities who direct activities and develop businesses in accordance with innovative concepts. "Lower Silesian Griffin" recognizes their outstanding achievements and efforts put into creating the economic and social future of the region.
Seven competition categories
This year, Lower Silesian Griffin statuettes will be presented in seven categories:
- Company supporting employee development
- Lower Silesian Product of the Year
- Leader / business leader
- Local government friendly to business
- Rising star of business
- Cooperation of science and business
- Green transformation
More than 140 statuettes have been handed out so far
The winners are selected by the Competition Chapter, whose members are prominent representatives of business, local government and science, including the rectors of the largest universities in Wroclaw, representatives of Lower Silesian municipalities and directors, presidents and owners of thriving businesses and institutions in Lower Silesia, who are successful not only in the domestic market, but also abroad.
The first edition of the competition was held in 2004. Since then, more than 1,740 Lower Silesian companies and local governments have taken part in the competition, which have undergone a thorough evaluation by the competition's chapter. In the past 19 editions of the competition, more than 140 winners of the "Lower Silesian Griffin" were selected.
Great Business Gala at the end of the competition
The culmination of the competition is the annual Great Business Gala, which attracts the most important personalities of Lower Silesia from the world of business, science, politics and culture.
The Great Business Gala, which from 2015 to 2019 was held at the National Forum of Music in Wroclaw, attracted nearly 4,500 guests. In 2020, the ceremony, due to sanitary and epidemiological restrictions, was held online at the Wroclaw Stadium.
Last year, the Lower Silesian Griffins were handed out at the Capitol Music Theater. This year, the Business Grand Gala will be held on October 23, 2023.
Applications are due by September 26, 2023
The Competition is open to any company, institution or local government that sends in an electronic or paper form a completed application questionnaire for the competition category of its choice. The questionnaires are available online at the Competition website. Applications will be accepted until September 26, 2023. Participation in the competition is free of charge.
The organizers of the competition are: Western Chamber of Commerce - Employers and Entrepreneurs, the City of Wroclaw, the Marshal's Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship and the substantive partner - PwC.
