Starlink is a global satellite Internet system created by SpaceX, owned by Elon Musk. It provides access to high-speed broadband Internet.

Europe wants to become independent from Starlink, and work in this area is being carried out by the European Space Agency. The Wrocław-based company Thorium Space is cooperating with the agency on this project.

Thorium Space in a project with the European Space Agency. They want to replace Starlink

Thorium Space reports that it has successfully completed a round of financing and has the funds to implement its ambitious plans. These include, among other things, the implementation of a project conducted with the European Space Agency.

"For obvious reasons, the industry in which Thorium operates is a very hot topic. Europe also needs to create its own scalable and completely independent communication platform to counterbalance Starlink. This applies not only to commercial solutions, but above all to military ones. Thorium is a significant and important piece of this strategic puzzle," emphasises Maciej Zientara, one of the main investors who once again took part in the investment round.

It is gratifying that Polish engineering and technological thought is making a serious contribution to building European independence and reducing the technological gap with the major powers.

Thorium Space on its way to NewConnect

Thorium Space – in recent years, it has been investing heavily in the development of unique technologies for satellite communication systems.

  • Closing the financing round and raising money for projects is a key step in preparing the company to enter the NewConnect stock exchange.
  • This will transform Thorium Space from a research and development company into a company with ready-made products on the commercial market.

What does Thorium Space do?

Since 2018, Thorium Space has been focusing its activities on the development of advanced satellite terminals and fully digital communication payloads for telecommunications satellites.

  • The company's flagship, continuously developed product is the Aurora satellite terminal, based on an intelligent Ka-band array antenna.
  • It enables electronic beam control, communication with satellites in different orbits, and simultaneous transmission and reception of data from two independent satellites, providing exceptional operational flexibility.
  • Thorium also offers the array antenna as a standalone product.
