It was also ranked second among cities with the greatest economic potential.
The results of the world-renowned ranking European Cities & Regions of the Future 2025, which compares European cities and regions in terms of their economic, financial and business strength, have been announced. It is prepared by fDi Intelligence, an opinion-forming magazine belonging to the British daily newspaper The Financial Times.
Several hundred cities, divided into five categories according to their population, as well as more than one hundred small, large and medium-sized European regions are evaluated. They are also rated in five subcategories: economic potential, business friendliness, connectivity, human capital and lifestyle, and cost effectiveness.
We have reason to celebrate!
The capital of Lower Silesia won in the category of medium-sized cities (200,000 to 750,000 inhabitants according to official national statistics), but also took first place as the most business-friendly location, as well as the place with the greatest human potential and the best place to live. The second place in the subcategory of economic potential is also a huge success.
A city that is developing rapidly
The president of Wroclaw, Jacek Sutryk, does not hide his pride in the capital of Lower Silesia's high position in the European Cities & Regions of the Future 2025 ranking in several important categories.
Wroclaw is now a city with almost 900,000 inhabitants, and up to 1.2 million people use it during the day. It is also a city that is developing rapidly. We are in the process of designing and just before the start of construction of five new tram routes. In turn, last week's news about the construction of the A4 motorway in a new route means a kind of new investment opening for industry in large areas in the newly forming triangle of the old and new route. What the market itself says is important, and it shows that, next to Warsaw, we are the capital of Polish start-ups. It's no surprise, considering we have 106,000 students in the city.

The most effective form of promoting Wroclaw
According to Magdalena Okulowska, President of the Board of Wroclaw Agglomeration Development Agency, the fact that Wroclaw has been ranked at the top of such a prestigious ranking for another year in a row is a great source of pride.
It confirms that we are successfully adapting to dynamic economic changes and sends a strong signal to investors that Wrocław is a stable and promising place for business development. Being included in such a renowned ranking is the most effective form of city promotion. It is a credible and objective recommendation that reaches global companies and entrepreneurs looking for the best locations to invest in.

There were already reasons to celebrate a year ago
This year's ranking is Wroclaw's greatest success so far in the European Cities & Regions of the Future ranking, although there were also reasons to be proud last year. The capital of Lower Silesia also won in the category of medium-sized cities. It also ranked first as the most business-friendly location, but also as the place with the greatest human potential and as the best place to live. However, it was third in the FDI strategy category and fourth in terms of economic potential.
The award ceremony for the European Cities & Regions of the Future 2025 ranking will take place on March 11th in Cannes, France, during the MIPIM International Real Estate Trade Fair.
