Most Desirable Employer 2021 Antal Report

Antal company specialises in the labour market, recruitment of professionals and managers. For the ninth time it has prepared the Most Desirable Employer (NPP) ranking - the results help to choose the best workplaces and features of ideal employer on the basis of candidates', employees' and HR experts' opinions. Compared to the previous edition, in the opinion of the candidates, the business stability of companies has gained the most - as many as 71% of respondents indicate this aspect as the main condition of being the best employer.

- The previous eight editions of the NPP ranking allowed us to verify who the specialists and managers thought was the most desirable employer and why. This year's edition of the survey was also consciously extended by the possibility of self-reporting of companies to the survey, during which they could verify their employee offer by examining indicators from HR departments and employees' moods, and thus obtain a detailed report on the topic

- says Artur Skiba, President of Antal.

The authors of the report emphasise that in order to gain the best specialists, companies have to follow the needs of employees, not forgetting that the final decision to take a job is influenced by many factors. These include not only the salary, scope of responsibilities or non-wage benefits, but also the position of the future employer - which is easiest to find out by checking the rankings.

- Today we are dealing with the era of an aware employee, who keeps track of the labour market and its trends, but also pays attention to the certificates and titles used by the company when it comes to taking care of its employees

- says Aleksandra Trzcińska, Antal research project coordinator.

Where is it worth to work in Wroclaw?

The companies that scored the most points in three areas (voluntary analysis of the company in terms of HR indicators, responses from company employees and surveyed professionals and managers available on the market) are: Allegro, LG Energy Solution Wroclaw, BNY Mellon (Poland), Center for Electronic Settlements Polskie ePłatności, Intrum.

The Most Desirable Employer title was additionally awarded in 10 industry categories: finance, IT, energy, pharmaceuticals, FMCG, real estate, production, marketing, PR and advertising, and e-commerce.

Employers were also recognized in the categories of Leaders: Benefits, Being an Employer for 5!, Employee Development, Recruitment, Employer Branding, Office Attractiveness, Care during the Covid-19 pandemic.

What Employees Hope for: Flexible Working Hours, Benefits, Promotion

Employees surveyed rate the availability of flexible work hours and the recruitment process at their organizations well (over 80% positive). An area that requires work is certainly the possibility of horizontal and vertical promotions - it is positively assessed by only about half of the respondents.

Offering non-wage benefits is now a standard - as shown by the responses of employees, 9 out of 10 employers fully or partially finance private medical care, fitness card and educational courses for employees. These elements are therefore a kind of "must have" organization - as many as 41% of respondents indicate non-wage benefits as the main justification for awarding the laurels of the most desirable employer.
- There are many ways to motivate, but just offering benefits to employees is not enough. Equally important is the employer's involvement in building such a culture in the organization, in which employees can realize themselves and are happy. Even the best designed motivational systems will not bring the expected results if there is no internal communication. And vice versa: PR alone is not worth much if it is not a part of a well-constructed machine

- says Marta Adamska, account manager in Neuron Agencja PR.

What do employees and candidates value most?

During the Antal survey addressed only to the professionals and managers available on the market, the three most important features of the desired employer were identified by the respondents: business stability of the company (71% of indications), the possibility of professional development (68%) and a friendly working environment (63%). The salary offered is important for about 58 percent of respondents.
