During the international panel discussion entitled “Prague, Dresden, and Wroclaw – what lies ahead for this new, growing triangle?”, representatives of local governments and the national government discussed joint business solutions, inspirations, and declarations made. What prospects lie ahead for these cooperating cities?
The panel was attended by:
- Jakub Mazur — Deputy Mayor of Wroclaw,
- Dirk Hilbert — Mayor of Dresden,
- František Molík — Director of the Náchod Branch of the Czech Chamber of Commerce,
- Agata Czyrsznic-Dobrowolska — Advisor to the Undersecretary of State, Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The panelists discussed what lies ahead for these three cities in terms of close cooperation and what opportunities joint inspiration opens up. “Today, we discussed the idea of Europeanism, which has its dimension in cooperation at the level of science, business, but also local government,” says Jakub Mazur, Deputy Mayor of Wroclaw.
Wroclaw and Dresden – 65 years of partnership
One of the most important panels for Wroclaw at the Economic Forum in Karpacz was the international panel held on September 3.
Dresden is our partner city. We talked about how we can combine industry, especially innovative, future-oriented industry in Wroclaw and Dresden, in Lower Silesia and Saxony, and also include the Czech Republic. We dream of an innovation valley where science and business create a new quality in Central Europe," concludes Jakub Mazur.
Cooperation in the triangle
We want to turn political declarations into something tangible. Our universities, which are already working together, should provide solutions that are later implemented in the form of real companies, factories, development and innovation centers in Saxony, Lower Silesia, Wroclaw, and Dresden.
Jakub Mazur, Vice-President of Wroclaw
Wroclaw does not yet cooperate with Prague at the same level as it does with Dresden. Dresden, on the other hand, has very good business contacts with Prague. Wroclaw therefore hopes that the combination of these three entities will allow for strong cooperation between all cities.
