Wroclaw in the prestigious ranking of European Cities & Regions of the Future 2022/23. Award ceremony was held in Cannes
At the MIPIM International Real Estate Trade Fair in Cannes, France, the awards in the world's leading ranking European Cities & Regions of the Future 2022/23 were handed out. Wroclaw took first place in the category of medium-sized cities for business friendliness and was third among all medium-sized cities. In three other categories the capital of Lower Silesia was in the lead.
MIPIM 2022 in Cannes, France
MIPIM International Real Estate Trade Fair in Cannes, France is the most important industry event in Europe. For 33 years, MIPIM is organized at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes.
This year's edition of MIPIM 2022, took place on March 15-18. It was 4 days of meetings, lectures and conferences on the investment market.
MIPIM 2022 was attended by 17 thousand people from 70 countries. All the world's biggest investors, developers and architects, consulting and advisory companies, investment funds, cities and regions were present.
Wroclaw - best for business friendliness in European Cities & Regions of the Future 2022/23
During MIPIM 2022 awards were presented in this year's prestigious ranking of European Cities & Regions of the Future 2022/23. The report is prepared by fDi Magazine - an opinion-making magazine from the Financial Times group.
In the category of medium-sized cities (population 200 to 750 thousand), in which the best conditions for business were evaluated (Mid-sized cities - best for business friendliness) Wroclaw was the best and came out ahead of such cities as Poznan, Bratislava, Tallinn, Lodz, Vilnius and Edinburgh. The list took into account, among others, the number of technologically advanced companies in the service and research and development sectors.
The distinction for Wroclaw was received in Cannes by Jacek Barski, Head of Strategy and City Development Department.
- Awards in the European Cities & Regions of the Future ranking are granted by a team of independent experts. If we win in the category of medium-sized cities, it is a great distinction for us. It shows that Wrocław is a good place to invest, and this is reflected, among others, in the tax revenues or the image of the city
Wroclaw in European Cities & Regions of the Future 2022/23
Wroclaw took a high third place in the TOP 10 classification of Mid-sized European cities of the future 2022/2023 (overall). In this ranking we were preceded only by Zurich and Vilnius.
Whereas on the 4th place was classified Wroclaw in the TOP 10. Mid-sized European cities of the future 2022/2023 - economic potential.
Wroclaw took 9th place in two categories - TOP 10. Medium-sized European cities of the future 2022/2023 - human capital and TOP 10. Medium-sized European cities of the future 2022/2023 - foreign direct investment strategy.
In the category of medium-sized regions (from 1.5 to 4 million inhabitants) Lower Silesia took high 2nd place. Our region was preceded only by North Holland.
- The report prepared by "fDi Magazine" proves that Wroclaw is not only an open and enterprising city, but also friendly to business and foreign investment. We are also pleased with the award for Lower Silesia, which is successively building its brand as a technology hub and innovation leader in Poland and Europe. Good business always goes hand in hand with good quality of life, which is what we care about in our city
