Wroclaw innovation saves health and lives
Labplus, the creator of technology that automates the interpretation of laboratory test results, has processed over 2 million tests to date. This has enabled the detection of life-threatening or health-threatening conditions in over 3,500 people. Now, thanks to cooperation with four leaders in the medical market, the Wrocław-based company will use advanced AI algorithms to support the interpretation of up to 3 million tests per month.
Wrocław-based medtech Labplus has created a technology that analyzes over 100 types of laboratory tests, covering 90% of the most commonly performed ones. To date, its system has evaluated over 2 million tests. It has detected life- or health-threatening conditions in over 3,500 patients and enabled hundreds of thousands of people to receive appropriate medical care in time. It has become a technological partner to most of the private laboratory diagnostics market in Poland, introducing a solution that revolutionizes the interpretation of results.
Up to half a million patients every month
Labplus makes its tool available in the form of an API, a set of tools that enable different applications and systems to communicate and exchange data, allowing partners to integrate with existing systems or create their own digital products. The solution has already been implemented by Diagnostyka, Synevo, and badaj.to, among others, significantly increasing the scale of the company's operations. Thanks to expanded cooperation with existing partners, the support potential is as high as half a million patients every month.

The immediate plans of the medtech company, founded in 2018 by a team of doctors, scientists, engineers, and data science specialists, include strengthening the company's position in Poland, expanding the system, and extending certification to pave the way for foreign expansion. The implementation of these plans will be supported by a recently obtained PLN 5 million EU grant.
Value for the lives and health of millions of people
Dr. Siddharth Agrawal, MD, PhD, founder and CEO of Labplus, says that clear, reliable, and immediate interpretation of test results is not a curiosity for the select few, but a powerful value for the lives and health of millions of people.
We strive to create a new standard in patient care. Expanding our cooperation with partners who are among the leaders in the diagnostic market in Poland opens a new stage in the dissemination of our solution. From now on, every patient tested by our partners will receive a comprehensive and understandable description of their results, along with the possibility of consultation, included in the price of the test.

Higher standards needed in diagnostics
According to a representative of Labplus, a quarter of a million Poles receive their results every day. More than 37,000 of them risk late diagnosis of disease, and 7,000 put their lives at risk by not receiving immediate help.
This is because patients do not know what these results actually mean. Our goal is to make automatic interpretation a standard in laboratory diagnostics, just like a stethoscope is when listening to the lungs.

Even more interpreted results
Diagnostyka, the largest provider of laboratory tests in Central and Eastern Europe, with a share of approximately 30% of the Polish market, has implemented the interpretation of results as an integral part of its diagnostic service. In the new cooperation model, the number of tests covered by digital analysis may reach up to 2 million per month.
The implementation of such innovative solutions is a game changer that improves the patient experience and the quality of care. It is also a key strategic decision. Thanks to Labplus technology, we are increasing the added value of our services, responding to the growing needs of the market, which today expects not only accurate results from leaders, but also immediate understanding.
Prof. Jakub Swadźba, President of the Management Board of Diagnostyka S.A.
The technology for automatic interpretation of results has already been adopted by, among others, Śląskie Laboratoria Analityczne, uPacjenta, Labmed, Dilab, Korlab, and the Radom Oncology Center.
Diagnostic know-how
Labplus interpretation is based on a unique diagnostic engine that combines verified medical knowledge and advanced machine learning algorithms. The system analyzes test results and medical history obtained through remote interviews in a matter of seconds. It then generates a report for patients with an interpretation of the results and recommendations for further tests or treatment – from a consultation with a general practitioner to an urgent referral to a specialist.
The technology was developed under strict scientific supervision and has successfully passed clinical trials conducted by the Medical University of Silesia. In 2022, the Labplus tool obtained European medical device status.
Dr. Siddharth Agrawal emphasizes that patients not only receive a reliable interpretation, but are also immediately put on the right diagnostic path, without downplaying abnormalities and knowing where to seek help.
We had a case of a patient who discovered that she had symptoms indicating the development of a prolactinoma in her brain, which is an absolute indication for immediate medical attention. Without the interpretation she made, she would probably have waited two weeks for an appointment with an endocrinologist or six months if she had tried to make an appointment through the National Health Fund.

More preventive tests
According to the creator of Labplus, both medical and economic considerations argue for the growing popularity of digital implementations in Polish diagnostics.
We estimate that our technology can increase the frequency of preventive examinations by up to 50%, which will translate into significant growth for the entire market. We have automated medical interviews and the interpretation of results, which provides knowledge rather than raw data. In this way, we support patients, doctors, and healthcare facilities alike.

An opportunity to reduce medical misinformation
According to data from Labplus, every month there are over 7 million queries on the Polish internet about the meaning of test results. Some patients, guided by inconsistent information, visit doctors' offices unnecessarily. Others, reassured by an imprecise diagnosis, downplay abnormalities.
Medical misinformation is spreading on a scale we have never seen before. Patients search for answers in search engines and too often trust Chat GPT. But is there anyone on the other side who takes responsibility for the information that reaches the user? For us, the most important thing is to provide patients with reliable and credible interpretations of laboratory results. We prove that technology, if designed with scientific humility and clinical responsibility, can be an ally to the patient, rather than a source of further risks.

Important constant and conscious care
It took Labplus six years of R&D and millions of zlotys from VC investors, business angels, and grants to create a certified medical device that analyzes test results in relation to remote medical interviews. The tool is aimed at diagnostic laboratories, clinics, hospitals, LIMS system providers, and small diagnostic facilities.
In parallel with the implementation of subsequent stages of commercialization, the Wrocław-based medtech company is developing a PRM (Patient Relationship Management) system, which is intended to transform one-off tests into continuous and informed patient health care. The goal is to create a comprehensive health profile that organizes results over time and helps to understand their interrelationships.
According to the assumptions, the system will show which areas—e.g., the heart, metabolism, or thyroid—require additional diagnostics, enabling patients to consciously monitor their health. The implementation of the new module is planned for 2026.
Ambitious plans for the coming years
The company's development is supported, among other things, by a recently awarded EU grant of PLN 5 million. The funds will allow the scope of interpretation to be expanded to approximately 300 laboratory tests. The plan also includes entering new global markets.
According to industry forecasts, the global direct-to-consumer laboratory testing market is expected to grow at a rate of 26% per year until 2031. According to a report by Global Market Insights, the blood testing market will reach a value of $123 billion by 2030.
