SXSW in Austin, USA, has for years attracted entrepreneurs, creators, investors, and thought leaders from around the world. It is an event that not only sets trends but also tests who is truly capable of thinking about their products and services on a global scale. For Wrocław, being present there is not just symbolic—it is, above all, about building relationships and laying the groundwork for future projects.

Poland on the Global Stage

One of the key moments of this year’s mission was the Poland @ SXSW: Innovation Showcase. The event brought together representatives of Polish and American business, startup, and investment communities, as well as members of the Polish diaspora in the U.S. It provided a space for technology presentations, startup pitches, and discussions on transatlantic cooperation.

“This meeting clearly showed that Polish companies are increasingly better at understanding the global market. It’s no longer just about technology, but also about how it is communicated, the user experience, and the ability to build value around a product. It is precisely this combination of tech and creative that resonated most strongly during the events in Austin.”

Paulina Muszyńska, Head of Startup Wroclaw

ARAW Among the Organizers

The event was organized in cooperation with the Foreign Office in Silicon Valley of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency, as well as the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Houston. Partners included the Wrocław Agglomeration Development Agency (ARAW), the Startup Wroclaw project, the Polish-American Chamber of Commerce in Texas, and Granite Landings.

Wrocław Companies Among the Best

Companies from Wrocław played a key role in this international mission:

  • Bards.ai
  • BOOSTRA
  • 4soft
  • ChallengeRocket

Each represents a different segment of the market, but they all share the ambition to scale their solutions globally. These teams are developing innovative projects in areas such as artificial intelligence, data analytics, digital transformation, and modern tools supporting business and recruitment. Together, they reflect the diversity and dynamism of Wrocław’s innovation ecosystem.

Their presence in Austin was not limited to stage presentations—it also included dozens of meetings, conversations, and informal interactions that often determine future partnerships.

“SXSW shows that in the world of innovation, relationships are still a key currency."

Technology Needs Context

According to Paulina Muszyńska, one of the key takeaways from SXSW is that technology alone is no longer enough—context, storytelling, and user experience are becoming increasingly important.

Startups that can combine these elements have a significantly greater chance of success. This marks a clear shift from a few years ago, when technological parameters were the primary focus. Today, what matters just as much is how a product fits into a broader ecosystem, what problems it solves, and how it communicates its value.

For Wrocław-based companies, this is both an important lesson and a confirmation that they are moving in the right direction.

Relationships That Last

However, SXSW is not just about the stage and the official agenda—it thrives on meetings beyond it. Conversations in smaller groups, networking, and spontaneous exchanges of ideas often lead to the most valuable connections.

Participation in such a mission allows companies not only to present themselves globally but, above all, to build relationships that may translate into business growth in the future.

“SXSW is a space where different worlds and perspectives come together. For us, it is primarily a place for building relationships and testing how our companies perform in a global context. We see enormous potential in Wrocław’s ecosystem and know that such trips genuinely accelerate its development.”

Krystyna Kardacz, Startup Wroclaw

Inspiration and New Business Opportunities

Representatives of Wrocław startups also emphasize the impact of the event on their future development:

“It’s an inspiring growth experience—a space to meet the best and learn from their courage, vision, and way of thinking about the future. It’s also a unique opportunity to build valuable and inspiring relationships that may lead to exciting collaborations.”
Anna Grechowicz-Dorosz, CEO & Founder of Boostra

“Participating in SXSW in Austin, as part of the initiative organized by ARAW, was a great opportunity for ChallengeRocket to showcase our approach to recruitment and talent measurement in the era of AI—in a world where candidates increasingly use AI to mass-apply and enhance their CVs.”

Tomasz Florczak, CEO of ChallengeRocket

Tangible Outcomes and Innovation Directions

According to Karol Gawron, co-founder of Bards.ai, ARAW organized an excellent business mission to SXSW in Austin:

“The logistics were perfectly arranged, allowing us to focus on pitching and business discussions, including those with the Polish diaspora, which has already offered support. The mission resulted in concrete contacts and leads. We also saw firsthand the direction of global innovation—from autonomous taxis to AI-driven solutions.”

Karol Gawron

“SXSW 2026 was above all proof that our work at 4soft is heading in the right direction. What stood out was not so much groundbreaking announcements, but rather the evolution of already known technologies toward real business value.”

Janusz Żółtański, COO of 4soft

Wrocław Thinks Globally

According to members of the Polish delegation, participation in SXSW is another step in building Wrocław’s international position as a city of innovation.

It is also a signal that local companies are ready to compete on the global market and actively participate in shaping new technologies. Wrocław is not only observing global trends—it is increasingly becoming part of them.

“Wrocław is not just watching global trends. More and more often, it is becoming part of them.”
