European Cities & Regions of the Future 2022/23 evaluated as many as 356 cities, which were grouped by population into five categories: the major, large, medium, small and micro. They were then ranked based on data collected in five subcategories: economic potential, business friendliness, transport links, human capital and lifestyle, and cost-efficiency.
 
In February 2021, we reported on Wroclaw's high position in a global ranking of the best cities for direct investment - Global Cities of the Future.

Wroclaw - best for business friendliness

In the mid-sized cities (200,000 to 750,000 inhabitants) category (best for business friendliness), Wroclaw came out top, ahead of Poznań, Bratislava, Tallinn, Łódź, Vilnius and Edinburgh. This ranking took into account, among others, the number of technologically advanced companies in the service and research and development sectors.

Wroclaw in European Cities & Regions of the Future 2022/23

Wroclaw took a high third place in the TOP 10 classification of Mid-sized European cities of the future 2022/2023 (overall). In this ranking only Zurich and Vilnius were ahead of us.
 
On the other hand, Wroclaw was classified on the 4th position in the TOP 10. Mid-sized European cities of the future 2022/2023 - economic potential.
 
Wroclaw took 9th place in two categories - TOP 10. Medium-sized European cities of the future 2022/2023 - human capital and TOP 10. Medium-sized European cities of the future 2022/2023 - foreign direct investment strategy.
 
In the category of medium-sized regions (from 1.5 to 4 million inhabitants) Lower Silesia took high 2nd place. Our region was preceded only by North Holland.

Wroclaw is the leader in attracting investors

The ranking fDi European Cities and regions of the Future, is prepared by , fDi Intelligence - an opinion-making magazine from the Financial Times group. The magazine specialises in foreign investments. In this ranking Wroclaw has taken leading places for years.
 
- In the European Cities and Regions of the Future 2018/19 Wroclaw took 2nd place in the category of medium-sized cities for business friendliness and 7th place among all Eastern European cities.
- In European Cities and Regions of the Future 2016/2017 Wroclaw took first place in the category of strategies for attracting foreign direct investment.
- Wroclaw, as the only Polish city, was awarded in two categories in the fDi Strategy Awards 2016.
- Wroclaw was ranked second among the top 10 Eastern European cities in the European Cities and Regions of the Future 2014/2015.
- In the international ranking Global Cities of Future 2014/2015, prepared by fDi Intelligence, Wroclaw was among the best places to invest among 130 cities from around the world.
