The capital of Lower Silesia has a GDP per capita adjusted for purchasing power parity at a level approaching 40,000 euros. This is the best result in this part of Europe.

According to Lukasz Medeksza of the Department of Strategy and City Development, this is not surprising.

- We have a booming economy. We can see it from the scale of investment, from the fact that there is no unemployment. We come out well in various rankings. You can say that it even happens to us quite regularly. What pays off for Wroclaw is its geographical location, but also its excellent international position, which the city authorities have been taking care of for years. That's why for years it has been a magnet for investments, including from high-tech industries," says Lukasz Medeksza.

How did other Polish cities fare? In second place is Poznań, in fourth place is Cracow, and in seventh place is Szczecin.

The fastest growing city in this category is Romania's Cluj-Napoca, and the best quality of life is in Brno.
