XTPL S.A. from Wrocław was awarded Presidential Economic Award by the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda. “This is a great honour and a reason to be proud. This proves we are doing something very important! Thank you!” – posted on Facebook dr Filip Granek, Ph.D., president of the company, after receiving the award. The awards were presented during the 590 Congress which was held for the second time in Jasionka near Rzeszów. During the gala, the President Andrzej Duda said: “This award is a way of promoting Polish entrepreneurship, technology and development – everything that is treasure for Poland and Poles.” He then mentioned the awarded companies: “These are the entrepreneurs who are successful, who march into the Polish or international market with their heads up. We intend to promote them because we want Poland to be taken into account also in the economic aspects. All the award-nominated companies are great, and the winners are the most outstanding in their trade and fields of expertise.”

INNOVATIVE ENTREPRENEURSHIP

XTPL was nominated for the award by the Polish Association of Listed Companies. The company from Wrocław was described as “innovative entrepreneurship which aims its business activity at commercialising technology of manufacturing ultra-thin conductive lines used in production of TCF layers.” As the Association stated, “thanks to this, a unique and comprehensive technological solution in the form of printers, heads and nanoinks was created.” This year, the start-up from Wrocław made its debut on the NewConnect market. The company collected PLN 10 million for developing its technology. The company's shareholders are, among others, ACATIS Investment GmbH and Heidelberger Beteiligungsholding AG which acquired more than 5 percent of shares each. The former company is one of the most recognizable investment funds in Europe and the value of its assets amounts to EUR 3 billion. The later is a part of the investment holding company listed in the Frankfurt stock exchange, Deutsche Balaton AG, with the capitalization of EUR 192 million. Another company from Wrocław, Belbox, was nominated for the Presidential Economic Award in the start-up category. It specializes in solutions in the Internet of Things.
