Young entrepreneurs met at the Startup WRO Meetup. They talked about funding
Financing startup projects was the topic of this year's first meeting of the Startup WRO Meetup series, which took place on February 28 at Basecamp Student on Sienkiewicza Street. Representatives of young technology companies could not only learn from which sources to raise money for their projects, but also make many interesting contacts, including with investors.
The second edition of the Startup WRO Meetup series has just been launched. These are content-networking meetings for startups, entrepreneurs and technology enthusiasts. This year's first event organized by Startup Wroclaw took place on February 28, 2024.
We have just started the second season of meetings for startups, innovators and technology facilitators. We are happy that the event is very popular all the time. It was attended by more than 220 people. This is even more than in the previous editions of the meetings we organized.
Paulina Muszynska, head of Startup Wroclaw
According to Paulina Muszynska, this proves that there are more and more people in Wroclaw interested in modern technologies and innovations.
Today we talked about finance and what opportunities are offered by funds and other organizations that have resources for startup development.

European Union focuses on new technologies, environment and energy
Participants of the meeting were able to talk to experts about funding opportunities for their financial ventures. They shared their knowledge about the ways and sources from which funds can be obtained for the development of startups.
Agnieszka Wojdyr, chief administrator at the European Commission, talked about what the institution can offer them.
We are looking for startups that have ambitions to develop on a European and global level. These are elite startups and I believe they can be found in Wroclaw as well. Especially because right here there are many that deal with the latest technologies and artificial intelligence.
Agnieszka Wojdyr
According to the European Commission expert, so far very few Polish companies receive such financing. Perhaps they lack information or practical support.
I encourage startups dealing with the environment or energy to get involved. These are sectors that the European Commission will particularly want to support.

Young companies want to meet and exchange experiences
During the meeting, Ewa Smektala from Cedepe also shared her experience on how to skillfully manage cash flow, optimize it and effectively control finances. Meanwhile, the content part was crowned by Adrian Czyczerski, president of Meeting Application, who told about his business path in the world of events. According to him, it is definitely worth taking part in events such as Startup WRO Meetup.
During the covid, we noticed that the need for proximity and face-to-face information exchange is extremely important, and organizing such events where young companies can get to know each other and share knowledge and help each other is crucial.
Adrian Czyczerski
During the meeting, the main conclusions of the latest report "Polish Startups 2023" created by the Startup Poland Foundation were also presented, in which Wroclaw became the leader in terms of the number of technology companies in the country for the second year in a row.
