Wrocław Airport announces subsequent growth. In May 2016 flights from and to Lower Silesia were used by almost 205 thousand people.
In May 2016 Wrocław Airport served almost 205 thousand passengers. In comparison to the last year the rise for about 2,1% occurred. Everything thanks to still growing interest of the domestic flights – 4,3% growth ( with 40 thousand passengers ) and the international flights – 1,6% growth (with almost 165 passengers ).
- Still we are eager to fly to Modlin or Warsaw. Also Radom appeared in the offer and from the 6th of June there is a possibility to fly to Olsztyn.- says Jarosław Sztucki, marketing and sales director of Wrocław Airport.
Low-cost connections up
For about 6,7% in May of this year, in comparison to May 2015 growth of the international low-cost movement was observed. A spectacular growth was noted by Wizz Air on the connection to London Luton (about 22,3%- comparing May 2016 to May 2015). Also other flights to Great Britain are widely welcomed: London Stansted (7,7% growth), Liverpool (6,5% growth), Shannon (4,8% growth), Dublin (3,5% growth), which are realized by Ryanair. Passengers usually decide to start their holiday earlier- even in May so destinations like Oslo, Chanii oraz Malta were also very popular. Because of this tendency Ryanair presented a new destination- Venice Treviso (since the 1
st of June).

High occupancy rate was noted on every connection to Spain, Italy and UK, what is shown by a statistics. Flights to Dublin- average 95,9 % of places were occupied, Britol 95,3%, Malaga- 94,8%, Tenerife- 94,8%, Liverpool- 94,7% and London Stansted 94,6%.
There is almost 60 connections from Wrocław Airport, with 4 new ones: Venice Treviso, Birmingham and domestic connections to Radom and Olsztyn. Since the 6
th of June there is a possibility to fly to the Mazuria lake district two times a week- on Mondays and Fridays. Additionally after the winter season connection to Tenerife and Stockholm Shavska was maintained- this is a novelty during the summer.
